54 days

There isn't much to say today...everything looks calm, no Elton related news so far, nothing relevant in my life as I have spent the whole day in the office sitting at the computer and trying to produce some results that might enlighten me and prove that I'm not wasting my time.

Elton starts a new series of Red Piano concerts in Las Vegas tomorrow, and hopefully some tidbits regarding the birthday concert at Madison Square Garden will begin to leak over the next few weeks or, hopefully, days.

Elton's official site has announced a new concert in Glasgow, Scotland for Saturday July 14th. Tickets are already on sale through Ticketmaster and Seetickets, and eltonjohn.com is also offering tickets to their members.

According to
eltonjohnworld.com Elton John's record label (or former record label if rumours are true that they split) will also be celebrating his birthday by releasing "Rocketman - The Definitive Hits" in March 26th.

In addition, it looks like Elton is finally taking part in a Hip Hop project, although not in the shape of a whole album (at least for the moment). The new album by Timbaland will feature several stars, Elton John amongst them, it has been reported.

And here's to the next entry! Meanwhile, be patient and enjoy the music!

55 days - MSG sold out?

After all the pre-sales that have been going on during the last two weeks, today ticket sales for Elton's birthday concert were finally supposed to start for the general public.

However, things are never as easy as one might expect with ticketmaster, and there were no tickets when they were supposed to be made available to everyone at 9:00 a.m.

Hopefully they saved some tickets for later on and people who weren't able to grab one ticket for this big event wil have a second chance soon.

Madison Square Garrrdeeeeenn!!!

Elton is celebrating his 60th birthday on March 25th by playing his 60th sold-out show at Madison Square Garden, New York City. No other artist has played "the world's most famous arena" so many times, so Elton is going to set a new record when he plays The Garden for the 60th time on his birthday!

We all know that when Elton plans a party everyone invited is in for something special, there is never a shortage of surprises if Elton is the host, and that's why fans from all around the world are travelling to NYC to celebrate with Elton.

Having crossed the Atlantic already 2 years ago to see Elton, the distance that separates Barcelona and New York looks much closer than one might think...it's only a matter of time (well, and money, but we'll talk about this later!). The logics of the situation, from a freak's point of view tell us that if I spent 17 hours in a train to attend my first Elton concert in 1999, why should 8 hours in a plane scare me?

So that's why in March 23rd I'll be flying from Barcelona to New York City to celebrate Elton's birthday with fans from all around the world!

The blog will be updated with any information that becomes available regarding Elton's 60th birthday bash.

Davey Johnstone said in an interview a few days ago that Elton had given him a set-list for the show that had surprised him, including some rarities they had never played before...interesting, isn't it?

Let the countdown begin!

Hello and welcome to my first effort in creating a blog.
It was a matter of time that I decided to do this, and with Elton's 60th birthday around the corner, and thanks to the encouragement of my friend Rod, this blog finally came to life.
So welcome everyone!
56 DAYS to go until March 25th!
